The Starfish Gives A Sh#t

On Monday night the 19th of December the Starfish Christmas, a benefit for The Littlest Tumor Foundation at Largo in Los Angeles, raised some 30 thousand dollars for the charity. 30 thousand f#%kin' dollars cuddlah! For one night of watching two prancing idiots, Amiee Mann, Patton Oswalt, Karen Kilgariff and The Reigning Monarchs do what they love to do most. Make fun of Dave. For real Dave and I were blown away for a number of reasons. First that you came, secondly that you stayed, but mostly by your kind hearted two fisted generosity! We may not have the largest podcasting fan base but we clearly have a really powerful one and for sure the most passionate. BAR NONE! One that when called upon to be agents of change steps the fuck up. And what's even more impressive is we know most of you freaks are broke ass broke.

When Dave and I were working on my talk show, Jenny Jones, our biggest frustration was that we couldn't actually help people. We didn't have the recourses to help people. And it made us both sick to our stomachs to see how shitty some peoples lives really are. But through the Cuddle  
we've been able to affect some change. And so knowing that we have decided that all Starfish events at Largo will be charity events. There will be between 5 or 6 of them this year. Each will be for a different charity. But not just any charity. They will either be  
charities that Dave and I have a personal connection with or charities that you have a connection with. That's why we want to hear from you. If there are smaller charities or issues that you think might need our attention let us know. Stu Gilkison, who some of you know, has offered to help us. He's the reason we did so well on this last one. This guy really gets it, so e mail him at gilkison@charter.net. Let's fuck some peoples lives up with care! Beat them with compassion and corndog them with money! Something like that.
